The AlcoHawk™ ABI is a DOT/NHTSA approved professional grade alcohol screener.  The AlcoHawk™ ABI or AlcoHawk utilizes a state of the art semiconductor oxide sensor to test breath alcohol content quickly and accurately. The AlcoHawk™ ABI features a simple one button operation and gives digital readings in seconds. It is a fraction of the cost of other D.O.T. approved units making it one the most popular professional units in the market today.

The AlcoHawk™ also has several accessories such as an a/c adapter for the car and a hard travel case making it a good choice as a personal unit for the consumer as well! The AlcoHawk ABI™ comes pre-calibrated ready for immediate and accurate testing.

The AlcoHawk™ contains an and extremely accurate semiconductor oxide sensor. This sensor uses oxide which has n-type conductivity when exposed to the atmosphere. This exposure causes a decrease in the number of electrons effecting absorbed oxygen molecules and thus increases resistance. If a specific gas (reducing gas) is presented, a reaction occurs with the absorbed oxygen which causes an increase in the electrons in the oxide molecules causing an decrease in resistance. This change in resistance can be measured and used to identify a specific gas (such as alcohol) and can be quantified into a % concentration. This cutting edge technology is what allows the AlcoHawk™ to be one of the most accurate handheld alcohol testers ever developed!
